Final May 1, 2008
Dear Students,
You may be wondering about the final test. More than half of the questions will be about on adjective clauses and past perfect. There will also be review questions from the first half of the term.
The final will have the following types of questions:
- Speaking - look at pictures cards and answer some questions. (5 questions)
- Listening – dictation, & draw a time-line of what you hear (5 questions)
- Grammar Knowledge: parts of sentences (2), parts of speech (1), definitions of verb forms (5).
- Editing – correct the errors in the sentence (14)
- Writing - fill in the blank (30), combining two sentences into one &, short writing (See below.)
How can you get ready? You can review chapters 4, 10, 11, mistakes on homework or quizzes. Most importantly, you should get plenty of sleep on Tuesday and Wednesday. If you are rested, you will be able to read carefully and use grammar that you ALREADY know to answer questions. Getting enough sleep and eating a good breakfast help you to pay attention to details.
EVERYONE in the class is currently passing. This means that you are already mastering the material. You have already done most of the preparation by doing your homework and taking quizzes. Be confident! You will do well.
