Willamette - TIU - TIUA Exchange
Student Exchanges:
* Japan Studies Program: Willamette students take courses in Japanese language, culture, and society at TIU for one semester or one year. They are placed in homestays in the Kawagoe area. Students come from universities in the U.S. and other countries.
* TIU Students at Willamette University: Every year several TIU students transfer to WU to seek a WU degree. They graduate with both WU and TIU degrees. Many are former TIUA students.
* English Language & American Studies at Willamette University / TIUA
Approximately 100 students from TIU study English and subject area courses. WU and TIUA students study together in ¡Èjoint¡É and ¡Èlinked¡É courses. TIUA students can take selected WU courses (fall semester). WU and TIUA Students are integrated within the residential system and through co-curricular programming.
Faculty / Administrative Staff Exchanges:
* Willamette faculty members can teach or do research at TIU for 3-6 weeks from mid-May to mid-July. TIU faculty visit WU/TIUA, usually for about two weeks to conduct research and contribute as guest lecturers in existing courses; although, longer exchange visits are possible.
* Administrative staff can apply for short-term exchanges (usually 2-4 weeks).
* In 2005, a new program was begun in which TIU hires WU professors to teach ¡ÈOpen Lecture¡É courses to TIU students. Eleven faculty members will be involved during the summer months over the next 3 years (2005, 2006, 2007).
