Kaneko Day Camp

Kaneko Day Camp is an annual event put on by the students and staff at TIUA.  Day Camp is a great way for children to get a taste of Japanese culture.

Campers are divided into groups of 10-15 children and they attend a variety of 30 minute sessions on:

  • Origami
  • Japanese Games & Songs
  • Basic Japanese Language Instruction
  • Demonstrations
  • Calligraphy
  • Japanese Culture
Your day camp fee provides:
  • Five mornings of Japanese Language & Culture
  • Day Camp T-shirt
  • Great TIUA Student counselors

  • End of the week Japanese lunch

DAY CAMP REGISTRATION

Kaneko Day Camp 2010 wil be held Monday, August 16 through Friday, August 20, 2010 at Tokyo International University of America, Salem, OR

The Camp runs from 8:30AM until Noon each day.  Friday's Camp ends about 12:45 pm, as there is a lunch for all participants, a chance for the parents to tour the classrooms, and a Japanese dance demonstration.

Scholarships

There are scholarships available to students of limited means.  These funds are available through a grant by the Salem-Kawagoe Sister Cities, Inc. organization.  They are for $50 each which may be used towards tuition for day camp.  These are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please download the following file and return it with your application and full payment.  If you are awarded a scholarship, you will receive a $50 check in the mail.
