TIUA Alumni Reunion in Tokyo - June 21, 2008 On June 21, 2008 a reunion for TIUA and Willamette alumni was held at the "Hobgoblin" Pub in Shibuya (Tokyo). There were Willamette graduates from the 80's and some alumni that were part of the 2007 one-year program at TIUA/Willamette - as well as many alumni from all of the years in between. In addition to alumni, two Willamette faculty members, Cecily McCaffrey (History) and Miho Fujiwara (Japanese/Chinese), along with two Willamette administrators, Teresa Hudkins (Admissions) and Cheryl Todd (Residential Services) attended. They were part of faculty and administrative staff exchanges with TIU. From TIUA, Barby Dressler, Tomoko Harpster, Masaki Shimada, Wayne Gregory, and Gunnar Gundersen joined the party, as did TIU/TIUA President Takayoshi Arai. Also, from TIU, we were glad to see Professor Norihiko Yazawa (former Visiting Professor at TIUA/WU), Mr. Yasuo Kokubo (International Exchange Center), Mr. George Hays (IEC; WU alum), Mr. Matt Lindley (IEC; WU Alum) and Mr. Satoshi Kaneko (Graduate School, TIU Waseda Satellite Campus). It will be a special reunion that will mark the 20th Anniversary of the one-year program at TIUA/Willamette.
